Thu Nov 14 2024“Uncanny Influence” explores the tension between abstraction and digital manipulation, where ink calligraphy serves as the foundation for distorted compositions created using Stable Diffusion in Comfy UI. Through the application of noise injection and ControlNet techniques, these abstract forms are transformed into surreal, fragmented images. Unlike traditional prompt engineering, the Noise Injection and ControlNet palette provides a much more visual and artist-friendly approach. It allows for greater freedom of expression through brushstrokes, shapes, and colors, making the creative process feel more intuitive and tactile. The title captures the unsettling nature of the work, where the “influence” of the original calligraphic abstractions is subtly altered by digital processes. By employing the ControlNet Canny preprocessor, the edge-detection algorithm helps guide the shift from familiar form to uncanny abstraction. The result is a blend of recognizable elements and strange distortions, creating a sense of disorientation. This interplay between the organic and the digital reframes reality itself, presenting an uncanny vision where the influence of the abstract is reshaped and reimagined through the digital lens.
